Severus Alexander Æ Medallion of Perperene, Mysia. AD 222-235. Aurelius, strategos for the second time. AVTOKP M AVP CЄB AΛЄΖΑΝΔΡΟС(sic), laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right / ЄΠI CTP AVPHPOC CTATOV B, Demeter seated left, holding poppies and torch; ΠЄPΠЄP in exergue, HNI-ΩN across fields. Unpublished in the standard references; for another coin issued by this magistrate, cf. RPC VI 4201 (temporary); for a similar depiction of Demeter from this mint, cf. RPC VII.I 177 (Gordian III). 32.97g, 41mm, 6h.

Near Very Fine. Extremely Rare; apparently the only known specimen.
